Renaissance Winds Broodmares
We have put a lot of time into researching the bloodlines behind each of our broodmares. In the past year, we have come to understand the importance of Broodmare Hall of Fame dams in the pedigrees. In 1972, the Broodmare Hall of Fame was established to recognize elite mares that produced champion show horses and/or sons or daughters that had a prolific impact on the Saddlebred Breeding world. Induction into the Broodmare Hall of Frame is not subjective. A mare must have produced a minimum of three offspring that have earned a number of World's Champion or Reserve World's Champion titles in the divisions of Five-Gated, Three-Gaited, or Fine Harness. Recognition is also given to a mare that has produced a dam of a World's Champion, or has produced a sire of serveral World Champions. Any way you look at it, the higher number of Broodmare Hall of Fame dams in the pedigree (usually 5-generations, and the record is twenty-three), the higher the likelihood that the athleticism and endurance is there to excell in any discipline. It's not just accidental. It is a product of finely-tuned breeding. And such is the case with our mares. Each mare carries no less than 13 Broodmare Hall of Fame dams in her pedigree, and we are constantly on the lookout for mares with even higher number. That, combined with our stallion's whopping 22 BHF dams, makes for quite a superior genetic package!

When we purchased "Pasha" several years ago, we bought a mare that
was on the verge of starvation, suffering from extreme neglect,
and laminitic. We were not expecting to find a SHOWHORSE underneath
her dull coat, protruding hipbones and bleeding, abcessed hooves.
And, BOY..... were we thrilled with her transformation! A highly
successful fine-harness and pleasure-driving mare in the competitive
Missouri circuit in her "other life", this mare was only a few
points shy of Champion title. Even in the field, she is still
all "show" with her sky-high headset and floating movement that
obviously caught many a judges' eye. She has gravity-defying
suspension, elevation, and head carriage~ she is truly amazing.
You can definitely see the Attache breeding in her background, as
well as in her "showhorse" prescence.
After gaining some much needed weight and literally getting her "back on her feet", we bred her to our stallion Harlem's P.R. Man, and she had her first foal in 2006, Harlem's Butterfly Kiss, who is absolutely stunning. And each offspring that she has had since then, continues to impress us in so many ways. Pasha's white ticked coat pattern, large apron blaze, high white stockings and disconnected white patches on her abdomen suggests that she is a chestnut sabino, a rare genetic coat pattern in Saddlebreds that is known to produce paints, roans, and solid white babies that are not "lethal white" or albino. They also tend to produce lighter colored coats in their offspring, which explains the golden color of her first baby, Butterfly. Her genetic "box of chocolates" is very exciting to us because we just have no idea of what we're "gonna get!" But it really makes no difference to us- Pasha is a wonderful mother, and real asset to our broodmares with her impeccable breeding and impressive show-ring history.
2009 Update ~ Pasha is in foal to our Andalusian stallion, Intrepido, for 2010!!! This will be our first Sporthorse cross with the Saddlebred and Andalusian bloodlines, and we are extremely excited. Both parents have incredible athleticism, endurance and heart, as well as great conformation and bone structure. With Pasha's sabino genetics, she has a high likehood of producing a gray sabino foal with lots of "chrome." Oh boy! This foal will be elegible for registration with the Internation Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association ( IALHA ), as well as The American Saddlebred Horse Association ( ASHA ) as a Half Saddlebred/ Half Andalusian.

This big, bold mare has Supreme Sultan lineage on the topside, and
her dam is by Grape Tree's Fox and champion mare, CH Arturo's Cara
Mia. Mia has 13 Broodmare Hall of Fame dams in her pedigree, and she
has produced some of our finest colts to date. "Mia" was never
shown because she lost most of her ears to frostbite when she was born,
but she has straight, elegant movement and a lovely expressive manner
that you can see in these pictures. Her fabulous temperment, large size
and excellent bone structure remind us of how Saddlebreds "used" to be.
And she is passing on those traits very nicely! Take a look at her offspring,
Bi Mi Hollywood Premier, and Titan Supreme. You'll see why we value her
so highly in our breeding program!
2007 Update - Sadly, it appears that Mia is no longer going to be able to produce any of her wonderful babies for us, as we tried desperately to get her in foal for 2008. Sometimes "Mother Nature" knows best..... However, all is not lost, as Mia is worth her weight in gold in helping us to wean the other foals from their mothers! Mia LOVES all foals, and lovingly takes them under her wing, showering each one with love and affection.....and teaching them good manners to boot! We love this mare and she has earned her right, as any older horse should, to spend the rest of her years happily doing whatever she wants!

Listing 15 Broodmare Hall of Fame dams to her pedigree, "Reeda's" bloodlines read something like this: "Champion, Champion, Champion, BHF, BHF, BHF, etc., etc.,...." Her sire is the famous CH Talk of the Town by Ch Yorktown and CH My Starlight Hour, with names such as Edna May's King, CH Wing Commander, CH Anacacho Shamrock, Flirtation Walk(BHF), Oman's Anacacho Maytime (BHF), Blessed Event (BHF), and Grand View's Majorette (BHF), sprinkled throughout her pedigree like stars in the sky. This mare is so feminine in her looks, with her long red mane and tail, yet her build speaks nothing other than power and strength, which comes from "nothing other" than these amazing genetics. With her athleticism and strenght, combined with the amazing pedigree of our gorgeous stallion, it is wihtout a doubt that her babies will be incredible athletes with tremendous intelligence and heart. Due in April of 2008!
2007 Update - Reeda has been lovingly purchased by Lori & Ralph Z. of Wisconsin! They have a gorgeous Arabian stallion that they will be breeding Reeda to in 2008 for a simply fabulous National Showhorse! Both Lori and Ralph are excited about bringing Reeda into their breeding program, where they also utilize many "natural" methods of training their horses, and we are very excited for them to be a part of the next chapter in Reeda's life! Congradulations!
2008 Update - Reeda foaled a lovely bay colt for Lori & Ralph this year, and both mom and baby are doing wonderful in Wisconsin. With a tiny white star on his forehead, black mane & tail and black legs, this little fellow is gorgeous....and the spitting image of his older brother, Harlem's Dapper Dann. As Lori & Ralph were hoping for a cute little filly, they have asked us to list this lovely colt for sale through our website. Please contact us for further info on this handsome little fellow!

We never in our wildest imagination expected to be so fortunate as to find a mare carrying this high of a number of Broodmare Hall of Fame dams in her pedigree, but here she is, big as life! With a record setting 22 BHF dams in her 5-generation pedigree, "Ruby" is a stunning example of what superior genetics can produce. With champions such as CH Valley View Supreme, CH Colonel Boyle, CH Yorktown, CH King’s Genius, CH Chantilly Rose (also a BHF dam!), CH Anacacho Shamrock, and let’s not forget, CH Wing Commander, this mare has the “best of the best.” Her listing of Broodmare Hall of Fame dams reads like a “Who’s Who”, with notables such as Diana Gay, Blessed Event, Kate Haines, Golden Firefly, Edith Gatley, Flirtation Walk, Chameleon, and Pennypack’s Pride, to name ONLY a few. We contacted the American Saddlebred Horse Association, and they double-checked her pedigree..... and told us that we truly had found a very rare mare.
Standing almost 17H, this gorgeous chestnut mare moves with the gracefulness and agility of a deer, and her beautiful silver/blonde mane and tail float around her like a mist. Only a swan could match her beautifully arched neck. It’s hard to get past this mare’s sheer beauty, but IF you can, you’ll see the powerful athleticism in the slope of her shoulders and the strength in her hind-quarters. She has a tremendous amount of substance and bone, and combined with her unmistakeable intelligence, she will no doubt be a true asset to our breeding program. Ruby's first offspring was born in January of 2008, a lovely chestnut filly that was quickly snapped up by Claudia S. of Evansville, Indiana. The filly was appropriately named "I'm A Chameleon, Too" to reference her heritage to the lovely BHF dam Chameleon.
2009 Update ~ Ruby is also in foal to our Andalusian stallion, Intrepido, for 2010!!!! Our second little Sporthorse foal cross will be arriving in late Spring. We are very, very excited as well as many other folks that have been anxiously awaiting this combination of genetics. This foal will be elegible for registration with the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association ( IALHA ), as well as with The American Saddlebred Horse Association ( ASHA ) as a Half Saddlebred/Half Andalusian.
